Why train with Leverhulme?

Our Postgraduate Teaching Apprenticeship programme allows you to train in school while studying towards Qualified Teacher Status in partnership with the University of Buckingham.

You will spend one academic year working in one of our schools, combining practical classroom experience with academic study.

While training, you will:

  • Earn a salary through our apprenticeship programme
  • Gain Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with the option to achieve a PGCE
  • Train alongside experienced teachers and mentors
  • Build the skills and confidence to lead your own classroom

After completing the programme, many trainees continue their careers within the Trust through our Early Career Teacher (ECT) programme.

A Rewarding Career

Teaching is one of the most rewarding professions. Every day offers the chance to inspire curiosity, build confidence and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.

Our trainee teachers quickly become part of a supportive professional community, working closely with experienced teachers, mentors and leaders across our schools.

Many teachers go on to develop specialist roles as their careers progress, including subject leadership, mentoring new teachers and shaping curriculum development.
