Year 9 Duke of Edinburgh Award Training Day

Year 9 students at Rivington & Blackrod High School and Sixth Form recently took part in a The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award training day, building key skills ahead of their upcoming expeditions.
Throughout the day, students completed a range of practical activities, including map reading, tent building, stove cooking and basic first aid. The session provided a valuable opportunity to develop confidence, teamwork and independence in a supportive environment.
It was encouraging to see students working together and approaching each task positively, helping them feel well prepared for the challenges of their expedition.
