Rivington & Blackrod Students Build Confidence Through Resilience Programme
Wednesday, 4th March 2026

Year 11 students at Rivington & Blackrod High School have been developing their resilience skills through the Pillars of Resilience programme, taking part in a series of progressively challenging activities.
Throughout the sessions, students worked collaboratively to tackle problem-solving tasks and step outside their comfort zones. The activities encouraged them to think about how they respond to challenges, while building confidence, teamwork and a positive mindset.
It was encouraging to see students supporting one another and engaging so positively, gaining valuable skills that will support them both in school and beyond.
The programme was delivered by the British Red Cross, providing a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect and develop practical strategies for managing challenges.
