Rivington and Blackrod High School Students Support Urban Outreach This Christmas

Tuesday, 23rd December 2025

During the final week of term, students from Rivington and Blackrod High School supported local charity Urban Outreach as part of the Christmas Dinner on Jesus project.

Working alongside Urban Outreach staff and volunteers, the students helped to pack Christmas hampers and prepare festive meals for individuals and families who need extra support at this time of year.

The experience provided students with a valuable opportunity to contribute to their local community and take part in a practical activity that supports others beyond the classroom.

Mrs Victoria Walmsley, Head of School at Rivington and Blackrod High School, said: “We are incredibly proud of our students for the kindness, generosity and enthusiasm they showed while supporting Urban Outreach. Their involvement in preparing Christmas hampers is a wonderful example of how our young people live out our values and make a positive difference in the local community.”
