Harper Green Construction Students Take Part in Brickwork Masterclass

Thursday, 2nd July 2026

Students studying construction at Harper Green School recently took part in a brickwork masterclass delivered by leading construction company Seddon Construction in the school's brand-new Construction Hub.

The hands-on session gave students the opportunity to learn practical bricklaying techniques from experienced industry professionals, who demonstrated key skills before supporting them as they put their new knowledge into practice. Throughout the morning, students developed their bricklaying skills while working alongside professionals and gaining a greater understanding of the construction industry.

As part of the session, Rebecca Sutherland from Seddon Construction spoke to students about the wide range of careers available within the sector. She discussed apprenticeships, qualifications and career pathways before answering students' questions about working in construction.

Opportunities like this help to bring classroom learning to life, giving students the chance to develop practical skills while exploring future career options. Working in partnership with employers such as Seddon Construction also helps students gain a better understanding of the skills and opportunities available within their chosen industry.

The Trust would like to thank everyone at Seddon Construction for delivering such an engaging and informative session. We look forward to continuing to work together to provide students with more hands-on experiences that support their learning and future aspirations.
