DLD Awareness Day 2024

Monday, 21st October 2024

Friday, 18th October marked the all-important Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) Awareness Day, bringing meaning and awareness to a vital cause.

Staff at Rivington and Blackrod High School wore purple and yellow ribbons in a show of solidarity, while vibrant yellow and purple balloons adorned the entrance gate, creating a powerful visual reminder of the importance of understanding and supporting those who face language development challenges.

The enthusiasm and participation from both staff and students made the day a memorable success, highlighting their commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for all. A Year 8 parent shared, “The targeted intervention and bespoke support that staff offer pupils with DLD daily at RBHS is second to none. They are living proof that adequate adjustments work and can help children fulfil their potential. Massive shout out to the whole DLD team.”
