An Inspiring Day at GCSE Science Live! for Year 10 Students

On Wednesday, 5th February 2025, Year 10 students at Harper Green School had the exciting opportunity to attend the GCSE Science Live! Workshop at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester. They heard from some of the UK’s top scientists, explored various areas of science, and received valuable exam tips from an experienced examiner.
The workshop featured talks from leading scientists, including Professor Robert Winston, Professor Jim Al-Khalili, Professor Sophie Scott, Dr. Tim Gabriel, and Dr. Jessica Wade. Each speaker shared their passion for science in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner.
Students were also given a booklet containing information about the scientists, their work, and helpful tips for approaching the GCSE exam. Not only did our students learn about the latest developments in science, but they also gained valuable advice to support their studies and had the opportunity to ask questions.
This workshop was a fantastic way to inspire students to think about how science can solve real-world problems and to prepare for their GCSE exams. Well done to everyone involved!
