A Fantastic Turnout at RBHS Annual Open Evening

Monday, 6th October 2025

On Thursday, 25th September 2025, Rivington & Blackrod High School hosted its annual Open Evening, welcoming more than 500 families to explore the school, meet staff and students and learn more about life at RBHS. The evening provided an excellent opportunity for prospective students and their families to see the school in action and experience its warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Visitors took part in guided tours led by the school’s student ambassadors, who proudly showcased different subject areas and shared their own experiences of school life. Families also had the chance to get involved in a variety of interactive activities and discover how the school’s values are reflected across all aspects of learning and community life.

The Head of School talks in the Main Hall were particularly well attended, giving families insight into the school’s vision, curriculum, and commitment to providing high-quality learning experiences for every student.

Alongside the evening event, two Open Days were held at the Lower School site, giving families the opportunity to see the Year 7 site in action during a typical school day. Visitors observed live lessons, met the Year 7 team and gained a clear sense of the supportive and engaging environment that defines the start of the RBHS journey.

Feedback from visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on the enthusiasm of the students, the warmth of the staff and the strong sense of community throughout the events.

Rivington & Blackrod High School extends its thanks to all who attended and to the staff and students who helped make the events a success. The Open Evening and Open Days offered a valuable opportunity to celebrate the school’s achievements and welcome the next generation of Rivington & Blackrod students.
